Battle of the eyeliners : K-palette vs Dolly wink

I figured it'd be a good idea to do a comparison of these eyeliners, since I was talking to someone else who bought one of these, but had run out of the eyeliner. T_T I can't remember who now as it was quite a while before (I've had these photos sitting in my backlog for ages haha), but if you do I'll link you for inspiring me!

I originally bought the dollywink eyeliner for my sister, however since she didn't touch it, I've "borrowed" it.

K palette vs Dollywink

Now lets look at the packaging, both of them come in a similar plastic pen format. I wouldn't be surprised if they're manufactured by the same company, colour and design aside, they're that indistinguishable! However I have to give a couple of points to dollywink's design, it's adorable.

Also very similar, kinda goes along with my theory of same manufacturers doesn't it! xD I find that the k-palette one is the tiniest bit thinner than the dillywink, but I find that the dollywink is a fraction more supple and soft. These are the miniscule differences though, and for the most part they are the same.

Swatches and tests

Swatch wise they're almost the same once again. However when rubbed with water to test how water proof they are, the k-palette holds up ever so slightly more. By and large, they're generally waterproof however I aggressively rubbed these under a tap to see the difference. When rubbed with makeup remover to test how oil proof they were, there wasn't any difference. Which is excellent cos I hte it when I can't get my makeup off at the end of the day.

Eyes

And lastly, this is how they each look on the eye. I find that although not evident when on my arm, that the dollywink is a little bit more matte than the k-palette which has a slight sheen to it. However i find that due to the stiffer k-palette nib, that the k-palette draws finer lines a little bit better.

As some final words, these two eyeliners are so similar that they're almost interchangeable. They're both excellent eyeliners. If you're having a hard time picking between the two, just pick whichever one you can most cheaply and easily obtain. They're so similar, that there's no point of me hoarding two of them, and I should just return it to my sister. =P

Colour:/5
The colour is a sort of foresty green with a blue lean to it. The green is quite dark and doesn't particularly stand out.

Design:/5
Although the limbal ring is jagged and fluffy it is still very harsh on my eyes. I do like the jagged effect as it makes the outer rim blends more naturally into my eye whites. However the large limbal ring just makes me look like an alien.

Enlargement:/5
These enlarge quite a bit. o: What more can I say, they're 15 mm with a white thick limbal ring, perfect formula for enlargement.

Comfort:/5
They're quite high in water content and very thin. Quite comfortable to wear despite the slightly larger size. ^^

Overall:/5

The weather has vastly improved recently. :D Puts me in a much cheerier mood when there is some sunshine outside.

This is my very casual outfit from yesterday. How funny is the brand name of the shorts, they're from a store on taobao called 'Catworld.' Which definitely appeals to my lonely cat woman side. xD A world full of cats! Imagine that! <3

Another look with another one of those lip butters. This one is pink truffle, a colour that camouflages as well as a chameleon on my lips, but still somehow makes them look better. I chose this almost bare colour, because I felt like I needed something understated on my lips due to the contact lenses.

I'll have more swatches of the lip butters coming soon, as I still have 4 left to show you. I probably should review something else in between. There are so many products I have that I have yet to review, and for some reason, the lip butters cut straight to the top of the queue.

Yesterday I also met a girl who only knew me through this blog, but dated one of my friends. The world is such a small place (yet there is definitely more space on this planet for extra cats.)

Cold days

Lessons learnt yesterday on a cold rainy day. - Don't wear flats where the water leaks in and makes your socks wet. :( And although I was much more prepared today in my cold weather boots, it didn't rain today, haha!

I'm really on a navy kick right now. I bought more navy things for my sister and I to share! Hopefully I can work them into outfits and share them with you guys soon. :] These navy tights are lovely, they have a really cute chevron pattern on them. :D My jacket is also a delicious shade of navy, it's my go to warm winter item. Mostly because I don't own many jackets cos I never get cold haha!

The forever new top is gorgeous, it has tiers of delicate lace. I think my sister got it from an op shop. o: What a steal!

Revlon Lip Butter - Candy Apple

This was the lip butter I used in my last post! I picked it up buy one get one from priceline, so it was fairly cheap. :D

The packaging is probably like what you've seen before. it's beautiful. How fake does the lipstick look in my top left photo? I'm experimenting with my photography style, taking away the green blanket. What do you think?

The colour is a warm toned red, kind of like the outside of a red apple, it's very appropriately named. It works quite well with my warm toned skin, doesn't accentuate dryness but has a slight tendency to appear darker in the creases of your lips, but this isn't very pronounced.

The pigmentation isn't too strong, it appears more like a lip tint, and looks very jellyish on your lips.

Unlike the last lip butter I reviewed, in the colour creamsicle this colour was decently moisturizing, however I still needed to wear it with lip balm.

This is now my go to every day red, it isn't so pigmented that it's inappropriate for day time but it's very eye catching and fun.
